today is october 26. there are only 67 days left until the end of the year.
that’s still a lot of time to change something about your life.
every year, people wait until january 1st to start a new habit or work toward a goal. but you can decide to start whenever you want.
the winner’s new year starts much earlier. and if you’re going to start early, you might as well rethink how you approach your goals in the first place.
i’ve tried 75 hard twice and failed. i’ve had doctors and other people prescribe me diets, medications, and routines that i’ve struggled to stick to.
by now, i’ve tried so many different frameworks and programs that i’ve learned from other people or found on the internet to optimize my life. almost none have worked.
but when i think about the things that have meaningfully improved my life, a lot of them were things i came up with myself.
for example, four years ago, i started writing a letter to myself every year on my birthday. i've done it every year since. i'm sure other people do something similar, and maybe i even came across the idea somewhere before. but i made it my own. it's MY annual birthday letter tradition, and that's part of why i've stuck with it.
and i think that's the problem with a lot of these programs. we're trying to fit our lives into systems that were designed around someone else's goals and circumstances. and as long as somebody ELSE is designing these systems for you, you’re never going to be able to follow them through.
with personal ai, it's easier than ever to design a program around your life and keep improving it as you go. all of the systems you see on social media (and want to follow) were created by people just like you because nothing else worked for them.
so fix your own life by creating your own system. give it your own rules. come up with a name for it. make it a concept of your own.
it should be something you can experiment with, build on, and maybe even inspire other people to follow for themselves.
that's what i'm going to do. i'm calling it 67 hard: 67 days to build better habits and see how much i can improve my life before the new year, one day at a time.
and if you're reading this tomorrow, or the day after, or whenever there aren't 67 days left in the year, don't try 67 hard. and don't do 75 hard either. you'll probably fail at both, because you're still following someone else's program. build your own instead. yours could be 65 hard, 60 hard, or whatever you want. but make it yourself. only you can design a system that actually works for you.
